A woman has died after she was bitten by a snake at Aduaben in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, according to a report by Kumasi-based Silver FM.
Ama Konadu, a 60 year old went to a toilet to ease herself when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Speaking with Silver FM’s Akwadaa Nyame, the assembly member in the area Hon Yaa Boatemaa explained that, Ama Konadu had gone to the toilet made with a wooden strature popular called in a local dialect “wheetem” to ease herself when the snake bit her..
According to the assembly member, the deceased is said to have screamed out in pain, drawing the attention of some people near for help. Concluding that the snake bite is because of the absence of modern toilet facility in the area. The residents put the deceased on a bicycle and rushed her to Kuntenase government hospital for treatment.
However, she failed to survive the snake bite, dying later at the hospital.
Meanwhile another person Osei Kwadwo who survive from a snake bite when he visited the same toilet some months ago is now cripple.
Osei Kwadwo, according to the residents was sitting on the same toilet when he felt a sharp pain on the tip of his manhood.According to them, when he looked into the toilet Osei Kwadwo nearly collapsed when he realised the snake was about to pounce on him again.
He screamed for help but that caused panic and fear among other people using the toilet.
He was then taken to hospital after he started shivering and feeling dizzy but became cripple after he was discharged. Credit Akwadaa Nyame (Silver FM)
