Some residents of Denkyemuaso in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti region have declared war against Atwima Chief, Nana Antwi Agyei Brempong II over an alleged sale of school land to a private company.
The chief, according to the residents has allegedly leased out school land to a German company to build chocolate factory.
The residents, however, hit the streets of the community to demonstrate against the chief during a programme to officially hand over the land to the developers.
They wore red armed-band and burnt car tyres in the middle of the main road of the community to express their displeasure.
Three of the demonstrators were arrested during the demonstration by the police.
The Denkyenmuoso community is bedeviled with lack of developmental projects including hospital, Good roads, toilet facility, potable water, and school infrastructure.
Leader of the demonstration told silver FM’s Akwadaa Nyame that though they need development in the community but not selling out of school land.
They, therefore, called on Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II, to call to order, the chief and prevent him from leasing out the school land.
The chief in question was last year destooled by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for insubordination.
He was latter reinstated after intervention by some imminent persons.
