Over 50 people have been rendered homeless at Dagombaline in the Asawasi constituency.
This follows violent clashes between Dagombas and Hausa people in the area on Thursday.
“A lot have been made homeless… Yesterday, if I tell you the number of people who were seeking for temporary accommodation, you’ll have no idea especially women and children” a certain man said.
There was a bloody clash between Hausa’s and Dagombas at the Dagombaline within the Asokore Mampong municipality of the Ashanti region on Tuesday, 8th July.Police is yet to confirm what sparked the bloody conflict but eyewitnesses say it was over land litigation. A joint military and police team were deployed to the scene to restore calm.Some residents had to run for their lives as tear gas, gun shots, and bullets were fired sporadically between the two factions.
Speaking with the C/Supt Ameyaw Afriyie, more than 100 people’s including women have been arrested while some injured person’s have been sent to the Manhyia government hospital.
Police is yet to ascertain the actual cause of the clash.
