The Assembly member hopeful for Aful-Nkwata electoral area in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly of the Ashanti Region, Mr Otuo Achampong also known as O.T has donated teaching and learning materials valued over thousands of Ghana cedis to schools within the Aful-Nkwata electoral area.
The donation forms part of support and improve effective teaching and learning in the schools of his electoral area and also security issues.
The donation included exercise books, pens, pencils, crayon mathematical sets among others.
Speaking to Silver FM’s Akwadaa Nyame after the presentation, Mr Otuo Achampong said the support shows his commitment towards ensuring that students in his electoral area are supported at every stage of the educational ladder to realize their potentials.
He, therefore, advised the pupils to take their studies seriously since they are the future leaders of the nation.
He used the occasion to encourage every teaching staffs within his community to work hard and also urged them to work with patience, humility and selfless in other to upbringing the children to become good future leaders.
He also appealed to the headmasters in the various schools in the area to make sure that their schools becomes one of the best schools in the Kumasi metropolis in the near future.
He also encouraged parents in the area to help fight hard to maintain the schools and pledged his total commitment to support the schools anytime the school called on him.
He again advised the parents to invest all their resources in their children’s education and added that education opens all doors and also advised them to teach their children to be God-fearing.
He disclosed that this gesture is not going to be a nine-day wonder but would be done every year.
Receiving the items, some of the students expressed appreciation to the Aspiring Assembly Member for the kind gesture and promised to study hard to become somebody in future.
