Member Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya North Hon Benito Owusu Bio, was allegedly chased by some youth within the Atwimaa Koforidua.
The chiefs in the community have rendered an unqualified apology to their Member of Parliament (MP), Hon Benito Owusu Bio who was physically assaulted and chased by the community youth over the weekend during meeting to cut a sod to start the building of a police station.
Reports indicate the MP was chased by angry youth who were saying that, the MP has failed to performed and has brought no developmental projects since he voted to be an MP for the past 19 years.
The youth however denied assaulted the MP as reported indicating that they only hooted at him but for the timely intervention of his entourage who whisked him into his vehicle and fled the scene.
“we did not touched him at all. It is never true that we the youth of Atwima Koforidua assaulted the MP. We only hooted at him and other party executives “Amando the youth leader told Silver FM’s Akwadaa Nyame.
The Chief of Mmetiam on behalf of the chiefs said, has received several calls asking him about the whole situation has since rendered his apologies to the legislator on behalf of the entire community and the youth.
“When I heard the news I quickly called my MP to ask him for forgiveness.
“The way the news has traveled has brought disgrace to us as the chiefs of Atwima Koforidua. I will say we are sorry to the MP and everyone affected”, he observed.
Meanwhile the assembly member of the area Hon Ansere Kwadwo Boateng has also express his worried about the incident and has urge the MP to forgive them and the youth who did that and focus on his good works.
